FiberNet Expands to Chicago and Miami
Web Hosting News – NEW YORK - FiberNet Telecom Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: FTGX), a leading provider of complex interconnection services, today announced it has extended its network reach to Chicago and Miami. The newly deployed networks are an element of the Company’s previously announced four-part network expansion project that also includes increasing its network capacity in the NY metro market; deploying additional capacity in Los Angeles; extending the network to San Francisco and augmenting its metro Ethernet network.
“Network expansion into these critical markets was of prime importance for us,” said John P. Dowd, Vice President of Business Development. “With these extensions, we can now meet our customers’ demand for expanded network reach.”
Continuing on FiberNet’s core strategy of interconnecting key carrier hotels, the network nodes for the Chicago and Miami extensions are located at 350 E. Cermack Road in Chicago and 50 N.E. 9th Street in Miami. Each network extension is fully interconnected with all of FiberNet’s data centers and colocation facilities, including the 60 Hudson Street Meet-Me-Room in New York. And both are comprised of multiple wavelengths to deliver FiberNet’s full suite of transport and conversion services.
