This series of extensive network-infrastructure upgrades allows for optimum network stability and performance as ServInt’s customer base continues to expand.  The upgrades are in response to recent rapid growth of ServInt’s customer base, as well as in preparation for upcoming projects.  The upgrades enable an 8-10x increase in reserve network capacity, which is critical in an environment where clients increasingly require a network that can handle extreme demand spikes without network degradation.

The Desert Bus for Hope marathon will be streamed live online by Canadian sketch comedy troupe LoadingReadyRun. The players will play marathon sessions of Penn & Teller’s infamous “Desert Bus”, part of the never-released Sega CD title “Penn & Teller’s Smoke and Mirrors”. In Desert Bus, players are tasked with driving a virtual bus from Tucson, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada…in real time. After driving for 8 hours and reaching their virtual destination, players receive a single point, and start the trip all over again in the other direction.

The more donations viewers make to Child’s Play via desertbus.org, the longer the participants are forced to play the game. The end result is a beautiful mix of vindictiveness and charity. In 2009, Desert Bus for Hope raised more than $140,000 for Child’s Play.
