What is your name and position with myhosting.com?
Chris Arnold, Product Manager at myhosting.com.
Please tell us the year established and brief history of myhosting.com?
Founded in January 1997 and headquartered in Toronto, Canada, myhosting.com is continually committed to providing leading hosting services by utilizing the best available technology and services from companies such as: Microsoft Corporation, Cisco Systems, Inc., Intel Corporation, MCI Canada/Verizon Business, VSNL International, Tucows Inc. and Network Solutions.
What do you offer your customers that are unique to your company?
Powerful custom VPS tools for building a VPS to exact requirements. Our tools provide unmatched flexibility in our market. Where most providers will force you to upgrade numerous features in steps (generally at a higher rate), our service allows you to modify individual components as need be. Our customers can individually upgrade RAM, CPU, disk space, backups to their exact needs!
What is the most challenging aspect to offering VPS Web Hosting?
One of the most challenging aspects is that customers have full control over their own container. This makes VPS difficult to support as customers really have unlimited server options available to them. myhosting.com”s dedicated VPS team is well versed in handling all requests should any arise.
What is it that makes myhosting.com a competitive company in the VPS Hosting market?
While our prices are very competitive, you won’t find a Windows VPS host around that matches us in specifications and support for the latest software out of the box (including WebMatrix and Plesk 10). Our one-stop-shop vision and commitment to providing the latest features and services really keeps us ahead of the curve.
What new features have myhosting.com added for its customers in the past year?
We’ve added out-of-the-box support for Microsoft WebMatrix and Plesk 10 in terms of software. In terms of hardware, we’ve also upgraded our Windows VPS environment to make use of SAN storage. What this means for our customers is that their VPS isn””t subject to hard disk access bottlenecks commonly found in hosted VPS environments!
What would you say is myhosting.com #1 asset to its customer base?
Our experience in the business has taught us that we have to stay on our toes. As such, you’ll see us constantly improving, updating and offering the latest features our clients expect all while retaining the flexibility to offer a wide variety of options to choose from for every hosting need. Superb Servers Offers Enterprise Solutions at Great Value
Today we speak with Dale Bunten, Dir. Sales & Marketing at Superb.net.
Dale, thank you for taking time with us to speak about your dedicated server offerings.
It’s no secret Superb has always been innovating dedicated hosting. My personal favorite is Lease-to-own. FindMyHost currently co-locates servers and it can get very pricey finding colo space and buying hardware. Not to mention hiring technicians who will setup the hardware. That’s why I find this option extremely attractive.
Can you give our readers a bit more information on how lease-to-own works at Superb?
Sure, as you mention paying a static monthly rate for servers can get very expensive. Our lease to own program allows customers to pay an extra $25 per month, so at the end of one year they actually own the servers (we will even ship them to the customer if requested). In year two they essentially pay a $99 /month colocation, power and bandwidth fee since the cost of the hardware is taken out of the equation.
This works really well for higher end servers, for example if a customer purchased a $500/m server, that would cost (500×24) $12000 over two years, but with our program it would cost only (525 x 12) + (99 x12) = $7488, as savings of $4512. In addition you also have to add the value of the server itself since the customer now owns an asset that can be sold.
What types of Enterprise hosting solutions do you have for dedicated server customers? I noticed load balancing and backup as two that stand out. Anything else Superb offers that might entice Enterprise IT managers?
Yes, we offer enterprise class colocation services, where a client would essentially outsource their entire datacenter to us, saving them many 1000’s of dollars rather than running and staffing their own in-house datacenters.
We also offer high availability hosting, application hosting, and geographic load balancing, and optimized magento servers.
VOIP is hot in the market right now. Can customers host their own VOIP solutions on your dedicated servers? If so, what solutions does Superb offer for customers?
We do a high volume of VOIP servers, and we have partnered with several soft switch providers, and have gained expertise in setting up and managing soft switch solutions.
How much bandwidth comes with your dedicated offerings? While most customers never use the bandwidth allocated many customers want to be prepared in case their blog or site gets picked up by a popular blogger or by DIGG.
We just launched 10TB, for all servers! In fact we have a crazy 15 year anniversary promo going on right now where you can get 70% off select dedicated servers here www.superb.net.
With IPv6 on the very near horizon, is Superb prepared for IPv6 networking for its customers?
Of course we are very aware of the situation and are working to provide this in the near future.

FindMyHost.com interviews Josh Ewin Vice President of Marketing at DedicatedNOW.
DedicatedNOW is a dedicated server and managed hosting specialist delivering cutting-edge hosting solutions to meet the requirements of small and medium sized businesses, large scale corporations and individuals.
Please tell us the year established and brief history of DedicatedNOW?
DedicatedNOW was established in 1997 and was one of the first of the FortressITX family of companies. Early on, DedicatedNOW catered to the reseller market, offering unmanaged dedicated servers. Over the past four years, DedicatedNOW has made significant investments in its staffing, network infrastructure and datacenter improvements. Our core strength is our on-site admins – our server administration team is consistently awarded for performance and is well versed not only with server management, but advanced, high-availability server configurations as well.
I see DedicatedNOW focusing on Dedicated Servers and Managed Hosting. What are some of the unique services and features that you offer in this market?
Our fully managed line of servers was launched our several years ago and remains our core product line. That being said, every month we turn up new high-availability clusters and assist many clients with managed dedicated and managed colocation services. We have several new services in the hopper, including Managed Exchange, CDN and our new Cloud product.
What would you say is the most challenging aspect to delivering these services?
Consistency. There are many aspects to running a quality hosting company, but when it comes down to it, if we don’t consistently provide extremely high value to our clients, then we’ve failed. We’ve been very fortunate to have the staff and infrastructure to consistently provide that kind of value.
We’ve seen a real buzz over the past year with cloud hosting, does DedicatedNOW plan to launch a cloud service?
Actually yes. Our cloud product is in beta testing right now. We’ve invested many months of develop into this product and we’re confident that all the planning, preparation and testing put into the DedicatedNOW Cloud will turn out to be a real game-changing product.
What makes DedicatedNOW unique in comparison to other dedicated server companies?
People. DedicatedNOW’s server administration staff has won many awards (six awards this year already) for its service and expertise. DedicatedNOW’s size allows us to provide an intimate touch with our customers that can’t be found with some of the larger players in the industry, while still being able to provide the infrastructure and expertise not commonly found in other companies our size.
What new features have DedicatedNOW added for its customers in the past year?
Over the past year, DedicatedNOW has rolled out several new services including CDN, Managed Colocation service and our new Intel line of servers. In that time, we’ve doubled our DDoS protection and made significant upgrades to our facility, including the installation of a new power substation, which enhances the stability of our power feeds.
Where do you see DedicatedNOW and the web hosting industry in three years?
DedicatedNOW has evolved so much over the past decade that it’s hard to predict where the Company will be in the future. I’m very confident in our Cloud product as well as our managed hosting service, which has consistently grown over the past few years. I think we’ll still be a very customer-centric company and regardless of our product mix, I think our management and expertise will still be the big attraction of this Company. We have experts on staff who will work with customers to identify the right IT solution, whether it’s colocation, dedicated servers, managed dedicated servers or fully managed hosting.
What is the most challenging aspect to offering Web Hosting?
As a provider of comprehensive, world-class hosting solutions, The Planet is tasked with keeping pace with new technologies to ensure our product line is always ahead of the curve. We offer the latest server lines to our customers at competitive prices.

This week FindMyHost.com interviews Artyom at AYKsolutions.
AYKsolutions specializes in locating top quality data center locations across the US. Providing superior Managed Dedicated Hosting is a large focus with AYKsolutions, altough it has everything from shared hosting to VPS.
We go behind the scene to provide you with insight as to why AYKsolutions can benefit your business.
Please tell us the year established and brief history of AYKsolutions?
AYKsolutions was established in the winter of 2004. Our first goal was to provide affordable, non-oversold, shared hosting services. After a year we naturally progressed to provide dedicated servers.
What do you offer your customers that are unique to your company?
I would like to think that we are one of the most understanding and flexible companies out there. We do not mind going out of the way to provide a service to a client that is usually not covered under our regular support plan.
What is the most challenging aspect to offering Web Hosting?
Honesty and professionalism. In the years I have been a part of the Web Hosting industry, I have witnessed many companies come and go. For the most part, their downfall was due to their inability to clearly and honestly communicate with their clients. I would like to think that AYKsolutions is the complete opposite of that. We never keep our clients in the dark and always treat them with respect. The response has been phenominal and many of the clients who signed up with us back in 2004 are still using our services.
What is it that makes AYKsolutions a competitive company in the Web Hosting market?
This goes hand in hand with the previous questions. We pride ourselves on the way we treat our customers. We are always making sure our support is up to par and that client”s requests/issues are handled quickly and efficiently. Because of this, our client retention rate is very high and we pride ourselves on that. If a client stays with you for a long period of time, then we must be doing something right.
